Meng Zhendong (1925 ~ Jul. 2009), aged 84, was buried at the Art Cemetery.

After the “July 7 Incident”, he followed the progressive people into the Taihang Mountains; He joined the Eighth Route Army when he was 18 years old and became a messenger of 1st Independent Regiment, who participated in the “Great Campaign with One Hundred Regiments” with more than 10 times of commendations. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, he successively held the posts of military shooting instructor, director of Military Staff Room of Politics Institute (Xi’an, Shenyang) of PLA. Because of his outstanding achievements in war, he was awarded the Medal of CPLA by the Military Commission of the Central Committee and the General Political Department, as well as Independent Merit Medal by the Military Commission of the Central Committee.
