Sun Yi (1904 ~ Jul. 2003) Joined the Communist Party of China in 1933. He took successively the posts of chief of espionage section of the 14th Army of the Fifth Legion of the Chinese Workers and Peasants Red Army, chief of staff of First Legion of the Red Army, Chief of Staff of Jin-Cha-Ji Military Region, Commander of 3rd Military Division of Jin-Cha-Ji Military Region, Agent Commander of Jizhong Military Region and so on, and took part in the Long March. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, he took the posts of Deputy-Minister of Military School Management Department of the Military Committee of the CPC Central Committee and consultant of the General Staff and others. In 1955, he was awarded the rank of lieutenant general,  First Class Eighty-one Medal, First Class Red-Star Honorary Medal of Meritorious Service Badge and so on. He also was the permanent member of the Fifth National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and the delegate of 7th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.
